How I got here
From DevOps to Development
I spent years running infrastructure before I wrote tools for it. Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, VMs, Proxmox clusters, bare metal, cloud. Everything here comes from something that broke or annoyed me in real operation.
Solving My Own Problems First
Tether exists because I had three Proxmox nodes, one public IP, and no interest in running Kubernetes just to route traffic. A tool earns its place here only after it solved a problem I actually had.
Building in the Open
The important parts stay public. Today every tool is Apache-2.0 and self-hosted. New tools may ship open core with a clearly licensed pro folder, or with terms that open up over time. Either way you can read the code and run it yourself.
What I care about
Infrastructure is hard enough already. Fewer moving parts means fewer things that break while you sleep.
You can read the code, run it yourself, and audit what it does. Current tools are Apache-2.0. Future tools stay public in the parts that matter, whether that is open core with a clear pro license or a license that opens up over time.
Every tool runs in my own setup before it ships here. Homelab first, everything else second.
